In deference to the slain free thinkers of the Charlie Hebdo staff in Paris, we take this moment to honor their memory, their irreverence, their humor, their ability to laugh at themselves and at everyone, in good cheer, to remind ourselves that this freedom that we so cherish has to be exercised and not simply mouthed.

In the case of Charlie Hebdo, they paid the worst price, an unacceptable price in this time and age.
